At Horizon Primary Academy, we believe that every child can achieve their very best. We are committed to creating a vocabulary-rich curriculum. Drawing on our simple model of teaching, we explicitly teach subject-specific vocabulary and enable children to use language confidently in speaking, writing and wider learning. Talk is a key feature of our approach—children learn collaboratively, share ideas, debate respectfully and deepen understanding through purposeful discussion.
