Music Concert Smash!
This week, Horizon held their first music concert, showcasing the learning that has taken place in classes and clubs across the school.
As a close to the show, the children performed a sign language version of the song 'A Thousand Years'.
Two very special girls - one from Year 6 and 1 from Year 3 - led our performance. I announced a music competition last term and they were desperate to enter. The already support BEAMS, a local charity that supports children and families with disabilities, particularly Autism. They not only wanted to perform for the charity but to continue to raise awareness of difference and vital funds.
As soon as we saw the beautiful video they produced, we knew this was something very special and decided to spread their inclusive message and set about learning all the signs for the song.
This concluded a fabulous concert with an extremely moving moment as the flash mob of children and staff entered the hall from all sides to join in with the Horizon family performance.
This will forever be a Horizon Primary Academy anthem.
