Horizon Art Gallery

On Tuesday 11th July, our school hall was turned into an art gallery whereby every child had a piece (or two) of their fantastic artwork displayed.  Parents were then allowed to walk around the 'gallery' and look at each class's display.

We are really proud and amazed at the level and amount of art that has been produced this year by the children.  Here are some photos of the gallery.

In May of this year, Ileasha Waldby (Year 6), Fiona Dusk (Year 5) and Elizabeth Dickenson (Year 5) were asked to enter a competition whereby they needed to combine their art and literacy skills to design a 'perfect pack lunch' for either a genuine or imaginary person.  They had to draw a picture of their meal and think through what makes it special.

A winning entry will be turned into an online recipe card displaying the work of the child entrant. Judges will pick the winners to invite to an awards ceremony at the prestigious Beaney House of Art and Knowledge, Canterbury, where their work will go on display.

Mrs Mills, who is our Governor linked to Art, has been organising and running an art club for 4 of our talented artists this term.  Each week they are set the task of making and creating a piece of artwork, using media that they may have not experienced before.  Here are some photos of the artwork that they have produced of which they are really proud of!
