This term our topic is 'Dinosaurs'. We will be learning lots of interesting facts about dinosaurs; we will be learning about their size, weight, habitat and skeletons. This week we have been learning about the T-Rex, we have found out that their feet are 1m long, they have 50-60 teeth and weigh the same as four cars. We were very fortunate to have a Gruffalo Science Workshop in class this week. We had the opportunity to stroke a turtle, hold a mouse and observe some snails, slugs and centipedes. We learnt all about how slugs and snails breath and move, we also learnt about the habitat of a mouse. In small groups we went through the nature trail collecting sticks, leaves, grass and flowers to make a habitat for the mice.

Reception class visited Horlands Farm in Marden Kent. We had a fantastic day out; travelling to and from the farm on a coach. We saw lots of animals including pigs, sheep and cows. We helped to feed the pigs and horses, and helped to heard the sheep. We learnt all about which animals produce the meat that we eat.
This week we have been learning about healthy eating. We have been sorting different foods into healthy food that we should eat often and unhealthy food that we should eat less often. We have been learning all about keeping fit and why it is good to exercise. The children have been making Mr Potato heads using a range of vegetables.
Reception Class have some new friends for a week!
This term our topic is 'Fantasy'. We will be reading the texts 'Alien Love Underpants', 'The Gruffalo', 'The Gruffalo's child' and 'Zog'.
This term we have been learning about celebrations and festivals. We have been learning about Halloween, Bonfire Night, Remembrance, Diwali and Thanksgiving. We are really looking forward to learning about Births, Weddings, Baptisms and Christmas.
We are very lucky in Roald Dahl class to have two pet guinea pigs. Their names are Pippa and Pumpkin, we are learning how to take care of them.
