Beavers

Beavers are the youngest section of the Scouting movement. At 4th Swanley Horizon, this means that all children in Y1, Y2 and Y3 are Beaver Scouts. In this section they are introduced to outdoor activities, have the opportunity to be creative, explore their local community and take part in residential trips. Their programme is great fun and inspires enthusiasm.

The traditions of the section are based on the behaviours of beavers in the animal kingdom. Beaver sections are called colonies because that is what groups of beavers in the wild are called, and their sub-sections are known as Lodges because that is the name of the beaver's home. Beaver Scout Leaders are often named around a theme, woodland animals being very popular.

On Friday 25th November 2016, two of our beaver colonies built dens and 3d structures.
On 20th January 2017, some of our beavers were working on their Emergency Aid badge.
