Year 2

Term 1 will continue to focus on Covid catch up, embedding the basic skills in reading, writing and maths to ensure the foundations of learning are rebuilt for the future.

In English, Year 2 will be studying the book 'Traaction Man' by Mini Grey: With an action outfit for every occasion, Traction Man patrols the house. He is never less than stylishly turned out and expertly accessorised. He is the last word in heroic fashion flair - until, that is, the day that he is presented with an all-in-one knitted green romper suit.

They will then explore the book 'Gorilla' by Anthony Brown: Endearing story about a little girl whose father never has time for her. She wishes for a (real) gorilla for her birthday but gets a soft toy one from daddy. ... The story goes on to tell how this gorilla takes the little girl out on an adventure for a birthday treat.
